Harivarasanam is a lullaby which is sung everyday in the Sabrimala temple before closing the door of the main place of worship or Sanctorum Sanctorum.
In 1955, Swami Vimochananad recited this Ashtakam for the first time in front of Ayyappa Swamy at Sabarimala.
During the recitation of the lullaby , devotees can feel the presence of Lord Ayappa.
At the completion of the last line , the door of the temple gets closed for the day.
