Ashtalakshmi are mentioned by Sage Vyasa in SrimadBhagwatam .Ashtalakshmi are a group of eight manifestations of Devi Lakshmi, born from the churning of milk ocean( Samudra manthan).
In 1970’s a Vaishnav named Sri U. Ve. Vidvan Mukkur Srinivasavaradacariyar Svamikal ,composed Ashtalakshmi Strotram in praise of the divine manifestations describing the qualities of each one of them in the verses.
